On 15th October, Tiger TV Launches in 12 markets across continents including India, US, UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and more
Chandigarh, 14 October 2026: A great entertainment destination begins with understanding the people it serves; what brings them together, what makes them laugh, and which stories they see themselves in. For Indian audiences, that connection extends far beyond geography. It lives in language, music, family, humour and a shared cultural identity that stretches from India to communities worldwide. Now, that culture gets a curated, premium home alongside the best of global entertainment. Rohit Jain, Founder of Lionsgate Play now brings Tiger TV, a dedicated Hindi and Punjabi entertainment space, available from 15th October 2026. Tiger TV was launched in Chandigarh in the presence of Gippy Grewal, Angad Bedi, Prince Kanwaljit Singh and several other prominent stars from the entertainment industry.
Bringing premium desi storytelling to audiences across 12 markets, Tiger TV pairs Punjabi and Hindi stories with the editorial point of view that defines Lionsgate Play. It is not just a language section within an existing catalogue, but a distinct, curated destination built around its audience and its culture.
Tiger TV is aimed at a substantial and highly engaged audience: 135 million+ Punjabi- and Hindi-speaking households in India and 7.5 million+ across key diaspora markets. Yet despite this scale and cultural influence, streaming has historically served these communities in a fragmented way.
Tiger TV plans to build a ₹500 crore+ portfolio of Punjabi and Hindi content IP over the next three years, with 50+ title premieres planned in its first year alone. On the Punjabi side, the lineup features exclusive titles including Laal Salaam, Rubb Rakha, Jahankilla, Hanji Kaun, Janaur, Ikk Tu Hoven Mutiyare, and Tu Te Punjab, and brings together some of the region’s best-loved faces - Diljit Dosanjh, Ammy Virk, Gippy Grewal, Neeru Bajwa, Sonam Bajwa and Arminder Gill. On the Hindi side, the slate includes Jeevan Ya Bheema Con, Mantu Bhaiya Ki Dili Dezire, The Taj Story and Aakhri Sawal. The launch also unveiled the first look of Daanav, a Hindi crime thriller original starring Angad Bedi and Pooja Gor. The series steps into the dark world of serial killers and the psychology that drives them.
Rohit Jain, Founder of Lionsgate Play, also unveiled Eklavya, the first in a slate of upcoming AI projects. More than a new title, Eklavya marks a new chapter in how the platform approaches storytelling and technology, reimagining how stories are told, built and experienced. The project introduces Yug R.Ai, Lionsgate Play’s first AI actor.
From day one, Tiger TV will be available on the Lionsgate Play app across Asia, and as a standalone app in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. In the weeks ahead, it will also be on Amazon Prime Video Channels and YouTube Primetime Channels. Backed by Lionsgate Play’s 5 million paying subscribers, Tiger TV arrives with a proven platform behind it.
Rohit Jain, Founder and CEO, Lionsgate Play said, “When we started Lionsgate Play, Hollywood was a category no one in India had built for. We built it, and in doing so created a niche and a position that is ours alone. Tiger TV applies that same playbook to regional entertainment. Every language is important, and each deserves a razor-sharp service of its own, with full-blown programming for the audience that lives in it, not a language tab or a dubbed shelf. Punjabi is where we begin, and the model is built to be replicated across India. In a world where streaming has removed linguistic boundaries, there is no reason for great regional stories to remain limited to regional audiences.”
Tiger TV launches on 15 October 2026 at ₹349 per quarter or ₹799 per year in India, and from 5.99 per month in the US (USD) and Canada (CAD), UK (GBP), Australia (AUD) and New Zealand (NZD).
